Dick Barton Special Agent

In the beginning the writers had a major problem trying to find a name for our hero. Some of the names to choose from were, Peter Drake, Rex Drake, Peter Fenton, Michael Drake, Peter Grant, Roger Barton, Rex Barton, Bill Barton, Pat Barton, Peter Barton but not a Dick amongst them. The script writers wanted to make sure that Dick's history was correct, so the checked with the Air Ministry to find out what the weather was like on the day of his birth and just to make absolutely certain they called the Town Clerk of High Wycombe. Our hero was born on Tuesday the 10th December 1912 at 5 p.m.
