The other big thing that started at the 'Two I's' was Skiffle. Kids from all over the country were pinching their mothers wash boards and broom sticks. An old tea chest, a piece of string, a broom handle and you have a base. A couple of thimbles, a wash board and you almost have a Skiffle Group. Learn the lyrics of a few forty year old songs and you ready to earn your fortune.

Oh yes, Why Skiffle? It gets it's name from early jazz men in New Orleans. The jazz men threw rent parties. These were gatherings where visitors contributed to a central kitty so that the rent of the party thrower could be paid. One jazz man was forever throwing parties, because he always owed rent, so finally his name was given to the jam sessions held at his house. His Name?
