Kids from all over the country were pinching their mothers
wash boards and broom sticks. An old tea chest, a piece of
string, a broom handle and you have a base. A couple of thimbles,
a wash board and you almost have a Skiffle Group. Learn the

yes, Why Skiffle? It gets it's name from early jazz men in
New Orleans. The jazz men threw rent parties. These were gatherings
where visitors contributed to a central kitty so that the
rent of the party thrower could be paid. One jazz man was
forever throwing parties, because he always owed rent, so
finally his name was given to the jam sessions held at his
house. His Name?
