Teddy
Girls are are much harder to categorise. There was no set uniform,
like there was for the boys.
For every day wear the 'Pencil Skirt' was the fashion.
The 'Pencil Skirt' would restrict movement from the knees up. This
would give most girls the appearance of running everywhere.
For dancing the flared skirt with crackly petticoats. Possibly still
the best form of birth control.
The only thing that all Teddy Girls wore that could be said to be
part of a uniform, was those "SHOES".
'Winkle Pickers'
Most Grand Mothers are still paying today for their fifties fashions. |
