| 1956 was the
year that 'Lancelot' hit the screens, it was also at this time
that Father Abrahams got his first idea for the 'Smurfs'. 1957
ATV gave us the wonderful 'Emergency Ward 10'. With the help
of this programme the whole nation could tell their doctors
what was wrong with them, saving money for the health service.
A couple of future stars who played as patients in the Oxbridge
Hospital, Albert Finney, Ian Hendry and Joanna Lumley. |

| '57 saw 'The Army Game' and '58 'The
Larkins', British comedy at it's best. The Army Game showed
what life was like for our brave conscripts. Alfie "Excused
Boots" Bass and Bill "I've got my beady eye on you"
Fraser starred in a successful spin off called 'Bootsy and Snudge'.

| After the fantasy epics of Robin Hood,
William Tell, Ivanhoe and Lancelot we needed a bit of reality,
so along came Dr. Peter Brady as the 'Invisible Man' with
great special effects (you could never see the string).
We were never told who played Peter Brady, but Tim Turner
was his voice. Lisa Daniely played his sister Diane. It
had to be a sister and not a girl friend, as Brady spent
half the show naked. |
