There were two types of cowboys, good guys and bad guys. Good guys were good shots and bad guys were bad shots. The bad guys got killed the good guys did the killing. The good thing about this system was that it was the same bad guy who got killed every week. You knew as soon as the film started who was good and who was bad, the rules were set. In all of these films there were set actors who would be the 'Doc' , 'Smithy' , 'Bar Tender' and the 'Saloon Girl' who makes good in the end. All of who would probably get killed saving the good guy.
