was in party mood. The Coronation was the best thing that happened
for the people. We had the Festival Of Britain in 1951 which was a
great morale booster. In 952 the King died and the country was plunged
into despair again. Now in 1953 the country was lifted up again. We
still had rationing. Clothing, food and many essentials were still
in short supply, but we Brits knew how to 'Make-do-and-mend' |
